Grid connected System in an Industry

 

Location: Shanthi Gears, Coimbatore

 

Description: Shanthi Gears is a large scale set-up in the business of designing, manufacturing and supplying various kinds of gears, gearboxes to almost all industries and applications for the past four decades. Shanthi Gears approached Sunlit Future to instal an on-grid solar system in order to reduce their carbon foot-print on the environment.

 

The Project: Sunlit Future provided a solution to instal a 100kw on grid system. Since every 1KW produces 4 units of electricity, after the installation Shanthi Gears is using 400 units of electricity via solar energy, which in turn means they are saving a figure of Rs.3000 daily, and in other words, a saving of Rs.10 lacks annually, and reducing its equivalent environmental impact.

 

Some Statistics: This project was a 100kw project. 416 panels of 240watts have been installed with 3 inverters of 30kw. 67kw of panels were fixed on corrugated sheets using special aluminium mounting structures imported from a company called Schletter, in Germany, and the remaining 33kw of panels were fixed on flat roof.
