Dear Friends
Another very interesting project we did last week for a NGO called Bijllee.com in Harada block of MP by installing solar panels on the top of tractor trolley which can then be taken any where to any bore well site to pump water.
The idea is to rent the pump for irrigation or drinking water purpose for one hour half a day or full day or weeks or for the full season in stead of using the diesel generator.
This would probably be the first mobile solar pump which can be taken by any farmer by paying a small rent and bringing his tractor to attach the tractor trolley. Its been just less than a week and its created such an excitement in the complete area and has suddenly woken up every one to the power of Solar energy.
The farming belt in this remote area is rich and they just need bank finance to buy and need no subsidy there is a demand now for more than one pump for hiring, a small change which opens up a world on opportunity for business potential for an entrepreneur.
I started working on this project October last year and finally made it possible last week, the panels have been donated by some organization to Bijlee.com and Prof Chetan Singh Solanki head of renewable energy department IIT Mumbai has put his personal award money for the solar pump and its installation and we at Sunlit have made it possible for them at a very nominal price and providing them with the innovative idea of renting the solar pump by having it on the trolley.
The idea clicked and it has created a significant impact.
This village is also Prof's native village and as with all the villages in India have immense power problem. This project has been truly very exciting and entertaining and i feel will open up a huge latent business potential in rural India.
